Greetings,
The July 2007 meeting of the SMG of YMCA Australia received the new "Shared Leadership Framework" endorsed by the Board of YMCA Australia at its June 2007 meeting.
The document clearly articulates a massive increase in engagement with local Associations; including an estimate of over 150 people involved in YMCA Australia sponsored meetings each year.
The SMG felt that this framework would render the proposed informal network of YMCA Executive Officers, ANZEON, redundant.
Of concern was the lost opportunity to meet with NZ colleagues. Accordingly the CEO of YMCA Australia agreed to contact the CEO of YMCA New Zealand to investigate the possibility of joint EO meetings in the future.
I would like to thank those colleagues who enthusiastically embraced the ANZEON concept; meeting to build an agenda; and promoting the concept to colleagues. Let’s all throw our enthusiasm behind the opening of engagement at the national level and advocate for trans-Tasman relationship building.
